Tesla’s are becoming more and more popular in the Washington, DC region. As a result we have definitely seen an uptick in the amount of Tesla’s we are removing dents from. Tesla owners often contact us directly and schedule an appointment for dent removal. We also provide paintless dent repair services for our partner body shops that are certified as Tesla body repair facilities. Falls Church Auto Body is extremely busy with Tesla body repairs. Often times when a model 3, model S, or model X is in their shop for collision damage, the owner will opt to have some unrelated door dings removed by Dent Hero.

Tesla’s are amazing cars with software that has the ability to limit collisions. However, they still manage to get dinged and dented in parking lots. Because of the flush door handle design and exclusion of body side moldings, these cars often receive door dents on protruding accent body lines.

Although challenging, we can remove these body line dents from your Tesla. The model three is particularly challenging to repair due to the following factors.

  1. Tesla body panels are made of aluminum. This material is stiffer and more challenging to work with than steel. Aluminum dent repair requires a higher skill level along with the proper tools and patience.

  2. Body line dents are tough. Due to tensions and the amplified strength of these types of dents, they are far more difficult to repair than a standard round dent in the middle of a flat panel.

  3. Because of the internal structure of the door, body line dents on the front door of Tesla model 3’s can not be accessed through the window (usually the fastest way to fix a door dent). In order to gain access to the back side of the dent, we have to disassemble the trim panel.

Check out the video below where we disassemble a Tesla model 3 door and repair a dent in the body line.

The Tesla Model 3 has a reinforced crash bar from the upper body line to the top of the door. Removal of the interior door panel is usually required to remove door dings in this section of the Tesla Model 3.
